What paperwork do you need?
We will need to collect some basic information about you and your loved one such as your names, dates of birth, and marital status. A complete list will be sent to you and we will guide you through completing all the documentation. We use this information to authorize the pick up and transfer of the person, as well as to complete the government paperwork and request the death certificate.
Is the listed price the final price I will pay?
Yes, the price you see advertised is the final price you pay. We know that the funeral industry often has a reputation for adding fees. With Cleo, there will be no additional hidden fees or surcharges. We don't charge extra for overnight transfers, oversized containers or anything else. How much does a simple cremation cost?
Our compassionate direct cremation package starts at $1900 and includes everything you need, from transport to paperwork, with no hidden costs. We're here to guide you through this challenging time with clarity and care, providing a dignified farewell that respects your budget and your loved one's memory.
Do I have to pay upfront?
We ask the payment be made the same day the pickup is scheduled. Our online system makes paying convenient with multiple payment methods available. We know paying for a funeral can be unsettling so i you have any questions about this, please give our team a call.
Are you available to collect any time?
Yes our team will collect anytime, day or night. There may be circumstances where the schedules are dictated by the location, for example a hospital may have dedicated hours.

When will I get a death certificate?
Within 1 week of the cremation we will submit the paperwork to the Quebec government to request a death certificate. The government currently takes 2-3 months to process death certificate requests. Since we know this is a long time, we also provide certified burial certificates that can often be used to help close certain parts of the estate. Our team will help guide you through which institutions can use our burial certificate and which will require the government issued death certificate.
Is there a visition?
No, we do not offer visitation. Most of our families choose to celebrate the life of their loved with a personalized memorial after the ashes are returned. If you need help planning a memorial our team is here to help.
How are the ashes returned?
In most cases in the greater Montreal area, we will hand deliver the remains. In some circumstances we can also mail the ashes to you.
How do I know you are reputable?
Cleo is an officially licensed and registered Funeral Home with the Quebec government. Our Funeral services team has over 40 years of experience in the funeral industry. Our mission is to make meaningful goodbyes accessible to everyone.
Can I choose not to have the ashes returned?
You may request to not have the ashes returned after the cremation. We will then scatter or dispose of the ashes on your behalf. An additional signature may be required to authorize this.
